As you may know, yesterday was the Earth Hour day, which means between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM lights were turned off. It was about 8:30 when I left job and saw, for my surprise, that the outside lights of the mall where I work were off. Besides that there wasn’t much difference from the normal hours. Earth Hour was also a good excuse for a candle light dinner, the difficult part was preparing the food without turning on the lights. And for this especial event we wanted do prepare something we don’t usually eat so we had meat with a lentils indian sauce, pappadums (wafer thin indian lentil crackers) and pimentos padrón (padrón pepper).
Everything was so tasty, and the dinner was being very nice until I found it….. the killer pepper. The thing with the padrón pepper is that when we buy them we don’t know if they are going to be spicy or not, you only know it when you taste them. Well, in this case they were spicy, but no problem, I like them that way. The problem was that one of them was not just spicy, it was deadly. It was like chewing an extra hot chili pepper. For a while it was panic, I drank milk, I drank water I even put butter on my tongue…. It took a while pass the effect of the pepper.
But still, the dinner was nice and our Earth Hour lasted until 10 PM.
